welcome

So, what is CURIOSITY? Curiosity is a 'real-life' social network that lets you meet new people whenever and wherever you want.

Would you rather be out and about meeting real people than wasting time with on-line networks? So would we!

Our whole social network is not on-line, it's built around actually meeting people!

Our Curiosity Cards let you know who around you want to meet new people and let you tell others to come and say Hi!

So whether it's friendship, a relationship or that you really are just curious, our Curiosity cards are the best way to meet people for real!

So get out there, BE CURIOUS and have some fun!

Our page 'the cards' tells you all you need to know about how to use our cards and our 'where' page provides a list of our stockists.

It's easy! Maybe you are grabbing a coffee on your own, in a bar with friends, or out for lunch. Simply place a card on the table to show you are Curious and wait for someone to come over. See someone who has a card and want to say Hi? Just go over and give them one of yours!

Play!

Place the card green side up to indicate that people should come over and have a chat!

Pause!

Place the card red side up to say you are busy but keep your eye on me as I'll be free shortly!

So, if you get given a card, you can now go and say Hi to someone else!

You set the rules, but we suggest the following:
If someone offers you a card, please accept it in the spirit of Curiosity
Please give them 5 minutes of your time for a chat, after all, you've gained a card!
Treat others as you would wish to be treated
If your time is up, please depart gracefully

Curious to meet new people?

Just pop along to one of our events and turn those cards into friendships.

So, where are we?

Our initial launch is in South West London around Clapham Junction.

However, Curiosity cards can be used virtually anywhere, it's up to you! We will be launching in new areas very soon so take them with you wherever you go. You never know where you may be, or who you may meet!

Safety

Because Curiosity operates in public places, we believe it is a safer way of meeting new people than some of the alternatives. Nevertheless, you should always be careful when meeting new people and so we've come up with the following tips to help you enjoy all the fun of Curiosity safely.

  • • Be Polite – The person who has just approached you may not light your fire but always try to avoid confrontation.
  • • Meet in Public – remember that you control when you use your cards and so only use them when you are sufficiently comfortable with the location you are in.
  • • Accepting Drinks – be cautious in accepting drinks even if they are not alcoholic. Just because someone has a Curiosity card does not mean that you know them any better.
  • • Maintain their Curiosity – only reveal details such as your telephone number, e-mail address or where you live when you are completely sure the about a person.
  • • Further Meetings – Continue to meet in public until you are sure of the person you have met.
  • • Going Home – Until you get to know someone always make your own way home no matter how good an evening you have had.
  • • Inform Friends – Always tell someone where you are going and if you move on, you can always text them with your new location.

Remember, ultimately there is no obligation on your part to talk to someone who approaches you with a Curiosity Card. However, by using common sense and following the above guidelines we feel sure that you will enjoy your Curiosity experience.

In the unlikely event that you feel your personal safety is at risk you should report the matter to the manager of the establishment where you are or contact the police immediately.

Curiosity takes no responsibility for the behaviour or actions of those using its cards. Nor will we become involved in any private disputes between participants and we do not provide any arbitration or settlement services should such a dispute arise.
